Description
At Newport Driving School, we prioritize your comfort and ease during the in-car assessment. All our vehicles are equipped with dual controls for safety and insurance purposes, and feature automatic transmissions. We understand that the vehicle may be unfamiliar to you, so we allocate time at the beginning of the assessment for you to become accustomed to it.
The assessment follows a pre-planned route, lasting approximately fifty minutes. This route is designed to include various day-to-day challenges such as highways, urban traffic, and straightforward maneuvers. Depending on the instructor’s discretion, freeway driving may also be included. Throughout the assessment, the instructor will provide clear directions, especially considering that many clients may not be familiar with the area. While there won’t be a specific road sign test, you are expected to adhere to speed limits and respond appropriately to all road signs and markings.
The main goal of the assessment is to help drivers either continue to drive or return to driving if it is safe to do so. Established driving habits, whether good or bad, will not impact the assessment outcome as long as they are safe.
